Just Another Chance…

Hallmark has given me another chance to break out of our trip-packing and paint color on my every day.

There are two things worth celebrating this weekend: The first is obvious and I put together a little video below to do just that. The second, monumental. I (all by myself - with a few consultants) put together a little video below to do just that.

I have been patting myself on the back all week for tip-toeing around with the children as we constructed the materials for this video, celebrating in my spirit that I could actually pull this off.

Until tonight.

As I sneaked away to a coffee shop to put the finishing touches on my masterpiece, I had the sinking feeling that by doing this video all by myself my husband is going to discover my well-crafted secret.

You see, there are things in my home that I choose to not learn because there is another who can do them. I play ignorant to all things technological (and add some others like squeezing the toothpaste from the bottom and changing light bulbs).

Every week Nate shuts down my laptop for me. He loads my ipod for my morning runs and closes windows on my desktop I’ve had open for six days straight. All this, in between, retrieving toothpaste tubes I’ve discarded in the drawer for new ones when I was too tired to squeeze them from the bottom.

But, friends, when he sees this video tomorrow …  I think he might figure me out.

Here’s to hoping he’ll be so touched by my act of love that he’ll forget all the technological pieces I pulled together to make this work.

And now, for the tribute to my man:

(Until I can get him to tweak this, for best viewing: click on the video itself to pull it up in full screen.)
