Here We Grow Again

My editor is gallivanting around a farm in Virginia with his college buddies, so in an effort to not expose the little man behind the curtain I’m going to limit myself to just a few sentences.

The Hagertys are expanding.

Sometime in the next year+ we will be welcoming two little Ugandans into our home. This wild ride just got a little more exciting (and petrifying).

A regular part of Eden & Caleb’s pretend play is “getting little boys and girls who don’t have mommys and daddys and bringing them into our home”, so I imagine they will be thrilled. At least until they realize they’ll have to share us. But we haven’t told them yet. Can you keep a secret?

More details to come.

(Though this decision has been slowly escalating since last fall, the past few weeks of moving in and making plans have been a whirlwind. If you fit in the category of “dear friend” and we didn’t tell you this personally, please forgive us. I had to remember if I’d told my mom before I started typing this :) ).

PS. In case you were wondering, we survived the storms last night.

Whenever I hear of children who will be receiving a family, my heart fills with great joy. I am reminded of my 2 Russian adoptions and the desire I had, 13 years ago, to bring all of them home, not just two. I am so thankful that you can bring two more of them home. Bless you as you embark on the journey again.
